Team Event Weekend! Get your teams together for SIR's annual ACP Fleche (24 hours, minimum distance 360K).

Details

Many Fleche rules are somewhat arbitrary, obscure, and very... French. It might be worth reviewing the official RUSA Fleche rules, available here: Fleche Rules. Pay particular attention to the "two hour rule" (Article 3), the 22 hour control requirements (Article 10), and the team size requirements (Articles 5 and 12).

Teams may start their rides between noon on Thursday, May 2nd and 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 4th.

Team Captain Responsibilities

  • Organize a team of three to five bikes (typically three to five riders, but can be more if tandems are included).
  • Choose a catchy team name. This is often the most contentious step.
  • Design a route. Tradtionally a point-to-point route is preferred. Loops are allowed, but out-and-backs are not.
  • All routes must finish at Watt's Brewing Company (formerly Sumerian Brewing) in Woodinville.
  • Email the organizer (Rose) at sir-rba@outlook.com with the team name, roster, and RWGPS route no later than midnight on Monday, April 29th.
  • After the ride is complete email the organizer (Rose) at sir-rba@outlook.com with the start time, 22 hour control arrival time, and finish time.
No team entries will be accepted after midnight on Monday, April 29th.

Team Rider Responsibilities

  • This is a 24 hour event; there will be several hours of night riding. Reflective gear and front & rear lights are required for all riders.
  • All riders (including team captains) must register via the usual process on this page – sign the wavier, pay the fee, etc. All riders must register by noon on Tuesday, April 30th
No rider registrations will be accepted after noon on Tuesday, April 30th.

Finish/Banquet

The Fleche Banquet will be held at Watts Brewing Company starting at noon on Sunday, May 5th. We will be serving burritos from Qdoba. Beer will be available for purchase from Watts Brewing Company.

Watt's Brewing Company
