Rouleur 150-199 km Populaire

Registration opens Wednesday, December 29 at 12:01 AM (Pacific Time).

To register online: sign in to your SIR member account. Don't have one? Create one. It's free!
Once you login the Register button will be visible on the right side of this page (or bottom for mobile browsers).
  • Advance registration is required — we cannot accommodate same-day registration.
  • Membership: All riders must have current RUSA and SIR memberships (you'll enter your RUSA number during registration). Don't have a RUSA membership? Join here (or renew if your RUSA membership has expired). Allow a few days in advance for RUSA verification.
  • Online registration is open until Wednesday, January 26 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time).
  • Ride cost is $10 paid online at the time of registration.
Registration has closed for this event. We cannot accommodate same-day registration at this time.

The online registration includes signing a responsibility waiver (using the same SmartWaiver app used for RUSA Permanents). After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email containing a link to the SIR waiver. Complete and submit the waiver to finalize your registration.

With regard to the waiver, we're bound by RUSA insurance rules, which stipulate that riders confirm the email address entered on the waiver. Here's an overview of the process:
  1. Go to https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/v/sir150K20220129/, complete the waiver, including your email address. This link is also in your event registration email. To minimize confusion, please also use these for the appropriate fields in the waiver:
    • Designated Event: Rouleur 150-199
    • Designated Event Date: January 29, 2022
  2. Once submitted, you will receive an email containing a link to verify the email address. Click on the link in the email. This will confirm the waiver.
  3. Once you've confirmed the waiver, you'll receive another email with a link to the completed waiver, and your registration will be finalized.
YOU MUST SUBMIT A COMPLETED WAIVER IN ORDER TO START THE RIDE

Due to continuing COVID-19 concerns, this will be a no-contact event with all online registration and no manned food controls. We encourage you to bring along your own food and drink, but the route does pass through numerous towns where there are opportunities to refuel. We will report separately on specific COVID-19 protocols, which will apply not only to this event but also to future rides for an indefinite time period.

PROOF OF VACCINATION or PROOF OF A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST WITHIN 72 HOURS is required to enter restaurants in King County. If you plan to drink or dine inside after the ride, please bring the required proof.

Please see https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/current-guidance.aspx for "Current COVID-19 guidance in King County".

Please also see https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/current-guidance/verify.aspx for vaccination verification. In short, the following can be used as proof of vaccination:
  • A CDC vaccine card or photo of vaccine card.
  • Documented proof of vaccination from medical record or vaccine provider.
  • Proof of vaccination from another state or county.
  • Printed certificate or digital record from MyIRMobile.com or other apps.

La Conner

Come ride with us to find out what randonneuring is about. We'll continue to build on the 2022 SIR Winter season with our Rouleur (pronounced "ruler") 159 KM RUSA Brevet Populaire (or simply Populaire). Read more about the SIR Rouleur Series here.

Route Description
RUSA Brevet #2887 Snohomish - La Conner Out & Back - features Looking Glass Coffee (closed for remodel) outside Spada Farmhouse Brewery, La Conner (multiple bakery and coffee options), Spada Farmhouse Brewery

The route features low elevation (below 110 meters/360 feet), gradual railroad trail grades with flat farm pastures, on rural roads against a scenic backdrop of the Cascade foothills and maybe a peek of Mt. Baker.

From the start in Snohomish, make a gentle climb on the Centennial Trail until passing under the HWY 9 overpass. Descend down into Arlington for a restroom pit stop, coffee (off-route one block), or baked goods. Make another gradual climb past Lake McMurray before descending down HWY 534 to Conway. Meander across the flats out to La Conner, with a chance to see Bald Eagles perched in trees. Grab some baked goods (or breakfast/lunch) at La Conner (multiple options). Return back to Snohomish for a finish at Spada Farmhouse Brewery.

Note: Printed cuesheets will not be available at the start. You may choose to print your own. To print the cuesheet from the route page, click the More button, then select Print Cuesheet.

Parking
Parking is available in Snohomish near the start on side streets. Due to the large number of riders for these brevets, please consider parking away from the businesses on 1st Street that are more convenient for walking customers. As a general recommendation, avoid storing things of value in your car, certainly not visible.

Food
In the spirit of self-supported randonneuring and keeping ride fees to a minimum, food and drinks will not be provided by the club for the Winter Rouleur Series. Bring your own food and beverages. Food & services are noted on the route.
