Route Description
RUSA Route #2515 "2019 Winter Solstice 200K"
A concatenation of Permanent 1309 A Little Edgy and the 2019 Winter Solstice Populaire, based on 1004 Lake Washington-Lake Sammamish Loop with the bottom part routed across Mercer Island and through Factoria (Factoria-Issaquah-Lake Forest Park-Seattle-Mercer Island-Factoria).
200K Pre-Ride Notes
- The trails can be slow. Stops, turns, people, pets, bollards, slippery leaves. Plan accordingly.
- The climb up to Burien is lumpy and should warm up most winter chills.
- The descent from Burien down to Green River Trail is steep. Easy goes it and use caution. Mind the stop signs at the bottom of the descents.
- The second half of the route (after climb out of Factoria) is relatively flat compared to the first half.
- Take note of the construction after Montlake Bridge with posted detours.
- Holiday lighting became more noticeable after the sunset on the Burke Gilman Trail.
- Have fun. Be safe.
A detailed pre-ride report can be found
