Urgent Update
The air quality east of the Cascades is poor and forecast to deteriorate due to increasing fire activity. The Summer 400K originaly scheduled for Ellensburg will now be run out of Bremerton. The new route is based on RUSA Brevet #2431, taking us west to the Pacific coast with the promise of better air quality and cooler temperatures.

Logistics
Most riders (at least those who don't live on the peninsula) will take the ferry from Seattle and need a hotel near the start.
You can find the Seattle-Bremerton ferry schedule here:
https://wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/scheduledetailbyroute.aspx?route=sea-br. Save yourself some event day hassles and pre-purchase your ferry ticket online at
https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/fares/faresdetail.aspx?departingterm=7&arrivingterm=4.
The first Bremerton ferry sails at 07:35 AM, much too late for the 05:00 AM start time. Most riders will need a hotel for Friday night and possibly Saturday night. There are several options in the area, including:
Hampton Inn & Suites Bremerton This is the finish hotel, about 5.3 kilometers from the start. See
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47509756 for one possible route (traffic should be minimal at ~4:00 AM).
Super 8 by Wyndham Bremerton This is literally next door to the start. Luggage transfer from the start to the Hampton Inn will be available.
As a reminder, all riders are responsible for making their own hotel reservations.
If you prefer to park your vehicle on the Seattle side and roll onto the ferry with your bike, several parking options near Coleman Down are show on
this map. This and other downtown parking options are shown on the
City of Seattle's interactive parking map.

[FINAL]
Complete route divided into smaller sections
The pre-riders experienced GPS glitches such as their devices not presenting cues or other times fabricating fake cues. The cause is unknown. One conjecture is some devices cannot handle long routes. To possibly prevent these problems, we are providing the route split into first and second halves of about 200 km each. Riders might prefer to use these files for navigation. Despite this, we cannot guarantee correct GPS functionality.
For an electronic backup we recommend riders install the free Ride with GPS app on their phones and "download for offline" the route files.
