Directions:

From Packwood go west 2.7 miles on US-12. Turn left on Forest Road 21 and go 7.5 miles to the pullout just past Johnson Creek Sno-Park. Map: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/20865786

The start is 16 km from Packwood. This makes the timed distance for the brevet 304 km. Riders are encouraged to ride to the start. While you may drive, we prefer you do not. Road 21 is narrow and unpaved. Dust hangs in the air for a long time after a car passes. For the safety and comfort of those riding to the start we want to minimize the number of cars on the gravel roads. The start location is lonely and we cannot guarantee the safety of your vehicle. Plus you will have to retrieve it after the ride.

If you must drive, leave Packwood by 0400 to minimize interactions with riders. If you have a helper returning your car to Packwood, the car must wait at Johnson Creek until the start closes at 0600 for the safety of any late riders.

The gravel portion of the ride is well supported by SIR volunteers who can return a broken-down bike and rider to Packwood. There is no reason to have a support car on the gravel part of the ride. Please have your support vehicle meet you later on the route by driving via Randle and road 25.

Entry Fee:

$15.00 SIR members, $25.00 non-members.
Please make all entry and
membership fees payable to SIR.
