|Description: || |
Can you say “flat course”. With less than 400 feet of climbing in the first 50K and less than 1000 for the whole ride, SIR rides just don’t get any flatter. The ride starts and finishes at Dan Turner’s house east of Bellingham and is an out and back course to Blaine.
Starting at a civilized 10:00 AM, a couple of easy rollers and you’re onto quiet rural roads for a bucolic spin up to Lynden. Plenty of places to eat or have a cup of coffee. Here you might meet up with some of the faster riders from the 300K on the way out to Blaine. More easy roads past houses, farms and fields.
You’ll make the turn and head back when you get to Blaine overlooking Drayton Harbor. Perhaps you’ll feel like a bit of lunch in Lynden on the way to the finish? Hang out, take a nap or otherwise relax while you’re waiting for your friends or family members to finish the 300K.
